National Maritime Museum Caird Library/Archive

The library located in the Maritime museum holds the largest collections on the Titanic. When research on the Titanic is made, more than likely, the researcher probably found themselves leafing through the Maritime Libraries collections. Many people looking into their genealogy may find records of their relatives being employed on the docks at the Maritime Library. The library also offers its patrons free access to sites like ancestry and other family research sources. All of this is free to their patrons! Since not all of their physical materials are held on site, it can take up to a week to bring in materials people want to see. If there is a material that you really want to see, let them know ahead of time so that when you get there, they'll have it waiting.

It was a really modern looking library, and has up to 5,000 visitors a year. The back room is for quite research and study while the front is space where people can be a little more noisy. In the middle is a big window-like wall that separates both sides of the library. Windows also line the walls bringing in lots of natural sun light. All bookcases only about 4 feet high creating easy viability and an open atmosphere.
